Common race pace targets
- Sub-25 5K: 8:03 per mile
- Sub-60 10K: 9:39 per mile
- Sub-2:00 half marathon: 9:09 per mile
- Sub-4:00 marathon: 9:09 per mile
- 3:00 marathon: 6:52 per mile
How the calculator works
Pick a distance and enter either a finish time or a pace. You get pace per mile and per kilometer, speed in mph, mile-by-mile splits, and predicted finish times for other distances at the same effort.
Why race predictions are estimates
The predictions hold your pace flat across distances. Real fitness doesn't work that way. Most runners slow as the distance doubles, so treat a marathon prediction from a 5K time as a ceiling, not a promise. The longer the jump, the more training it takes to make the number real. A training plan is how you close that gap.
